One in 10 brits without home contents insurance

about five 1000000 adults in United Kingdom have not taken out home contents insurance, a new study by Sainsbury's Home Insurance reveals.
Londoners proved to be most neglectful at protecting their homes, with 22 per cent of grownup deciding they could do without home contents insurance. Another five per cent of the capital's population were not even sure if their home contents were insured person, so accordingly might not be covered for harm to their homes.
People in Yorkshire and Humberside are the most timid in the state, as 96 per cent have taken out cover for their belongings, closely followed by Scotland (95 per cent) and the South West and Wales (94 per cent).
When asked for ground why they did not insure their ownership in the home, more than a third (35 per cent) answered they did not think it was necessity. Another 14 per cent said they could not afford home contents cover.
"It's remarkable given the value of people's home contents that so many do not have cover" remark Neil Laird, director of Sainsbury's home insurance.
"Home insurance does not have to be expensive." he continued. "You can spreading the cost over the course of study of a year and some insurers, including ourselves, will not complaint for this. There are also some great price reduction on cover available at the minute."
New Sainsbury's customers are presently able to purchase 12 months of home insurance for the price of nine, and get a further 10 per cent off if they buy their cover online. This offer is available to all those who purchase both edifice and contents cover.
